This piece is a result of the inspiration from a reading of the poem "A Cradle Song" written by William Blake.
The main challenges were to write a musical work featuring the viola in different registers, originally as a solo instrumental work, but, resulting in a string quartet featuring two Violas.

Story Behind the Song: As part of an orchestration class, as offered through Alexander University, one of the assignments was to compose an original work from a reading by author William Blake of his poem titled "A Cradle Song".
