Our Focus

We have a vision to provide a worldwide showcase and directory of handcrafted stringed instrument luthiers, the makers of fine quality instruments, which includes you, the artisans making violins, violas, celli, basses, mandolins, harps, lutes and other stringed instruments exclusively in the acoustic, stringed, family of musical instruments.

Why?

Why another site which offers a directory of sorts for the general public? As both an instrumentalist, for classical guitar, and as a composer, I found it difficult to locate luthiers of various stringed instruments. I quickly learned that I had to visit several websites on the internet and very few of these were connected together even though they all were part of the big picture of stringed musical instruments, in essence, the same market. The idea of bringing a unity to this market is why this site is being developed.

To me, it makes more sense from a marketing viewpoint to unify each instrument category of stringed instruments (i.e. – guitar, violin, viola, cello, bass, harp, etc.) into a centralized location. In this way each instrument is exposed to a much larger audience than when focused on a single instrument or a small group of instruments for any given website. The bottom line is exposure and on a grander scale than other sites have demonstrated, while at the same time making it easier for potential customers to find you, the luthier of any given stringed instrument.

For the Performer and Instrumentalist

For the performer – You have worked hard at learning what it takes to be an excellent performer and/or instrumentalist, by showcasing your skills as an artist on the stages of the world. You have spent years perfecting your craft and you are now seeking musical instruments which enhance your natural and developed performance skills allowing your true artistry to come forth. We are striving to be a resource for you, a stage if you will, for discovering truly wonderful, artistically beautiful, high quality musical instruments. We will be including a direct link to their respective websites and/or we will provide the contact information for the incredible luthiers who are listed with us. All of this is available to you in a comfortable, stress-free environment, as you seek to find your perfect stringed instrument.

For the Luthier

For the luthier – This website offers you an international venue whereby you can let the world know about you and your finely handcrafted musical instruments including any new instruments you may have to offer. Your options include a simple link to your website, a photo/logo and description about you and your business, a quarter page layout to demonstrate your wares, a half page location or a full, completely dedicated page featuring you and your products without advertisements distracting the viewer.

These options also provide a larger set of options to showcase your company and your products. This set of broader options open up more markets and more potential purchasers of your instruments. Consequently, your participation will help to make this showcase a truly wonderful resource for the performing artist and the avid hobbyists throughout the world.

For the Service Organizations

As an Association, Society, Organization or other service providers throughout the worldwide stringed instrument community you are the glue which holds the industry together. As providers of services, support systems and various products necessary for the ongoing continuity and growth of the industry we want to offer you a complimentary listing in our showcases as an offer of support from us to you.
